Step One – Making the Decision:
Contact Stones & Muirden Business College & Training Centre to inform the friendly staff about the position you are recruiting for. Once our staff have a clear understanding of the position they will forward resumes of suitable students who are keen to undertake a traineeship.
All you have to do is interview the applicants you feel best meet the requirements of the job role and make a decision. The best part is the referral process is FREE!

Step Two – Conditions of Employment:
You will need to confirm with your trainee the conditions of their employment. For example, if they are employed in a full time or part time capacity, if they are paid under an award or an employment agreement, what their wage/ salary is and details of any leave or other benefits to which they are entitled. If you are unsure, contact the Australian Industry Group information hotline in your state or visit the website provided below.

Step Three – The Paperwork:
Once you have employed your trainee, you will need to contact an Australian Apprenticeship Centre (AAC) to arrange a time for them to meet with you to complete some paperwork. This includes a Traineeship/ Apprenticeship Training contract and any other relevant forms which will allow you to claim the government incentives you are eligible for. Step Four – Organise the Training:
If you select Stones & Muirden Business College & Training Centre as your Registered Training Organisation (RTO) you can contact our Traineeship Manager to meet with you and assist you in selecting the most suitable units for your trainee. The Traineeship Manager will tailor the certificate to best meet your organisation requirements for the job role and discuss with you the most suitable training delivery.
Following the meeting, you will be supplied with a tailored Training Plan and Training Schedule for your trainee.

Step Five – Claim your Incentive Payment:
By employing a trainee you may be eligible for financial support. Once your trainee is enrolled with a Registered Training Organisation and has commenced training, you can contact your Australian Apprenticeship Centre to claim the incentive payments you are eligible for. Please note, upon commencement and registration of the traineeship it can take approximately 3 months to process an incentive payment.
