Off The Job Traineeship Program
On-the-job and off-the-job training programs are the two different forms
of training delivery that are possible under the traineeship scheme.
An
off-the-job traineeship requires a trainee to attend Stones &
Muirden Business College & Training Centre for their structured
training. The trainee attends Stones & Muirden Business College &
Training Centre one day per week to complete their study obligations.
A Trainee’s progress and attendance are monitored closely. Written
reports on a trainee’s progress are sent every three months directly to
the employer. Verbal reports may be requested at any time during a
trainee’s course of study.
The College offers an environment that instils academic and professional
excellence.
The role of a training provider during an off-the-job traineeship is:
-
To develop a training plan with the employer and
trainee at the beginning of the program tailoring their
qualification requirements to their job description.
-
To provide all instruction and resource materials
required for a trainee to undertake their training plan.
-
To offer constructive feedback to an employer about
their trainee’s progress at regular intervals.
-
To assess a trainee’s level of competency against
nationally accredited criteria.
-
To issue a nationally recognised qualification when
all assessments have been deemed competent.
-
To offer support to the employer and trainee in
relation to training and assessment concerns, as required.
